      Basics of the EAR/ITAR: An Introduction to the Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations

      U.S.-based exporters are subject to a web of regulations on (i) what they can export from the U.S.; and (ii) what foreign persons and businesses with whom they can transact. The primary compliance responsibility for these export control regulations rests with the U.S. Principal Party in Interest (USPPI); and the compliance responsibility can’t be contracted away our outsourced. Penalties for non-compliance are steep—with significant fines and possible jail time. This webinar will review those export control regulations applicable to U.S. exporters—specifically, the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Trade in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the economic sanctions programs administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control. The webinar will discuss effective compliance strategies for exporters of all sizes.
