Matthew T. Harris is a partner at Arnall Golden Gregory LLP in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group and Real Estate Practice Group, and leads the firm's Private Equity Practice.

Mr. Harris focuses his practice on the private equity industry and regularly executes joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, private offerings and syndications for corporate and real estate funds, institutional limited partners, investors, entrepreneurs, operators and developers. Additionally, he regularly drafts and negotiates complex partnership/operating agreements for corporate and real estate investments and executes a variety of transactions and financings. He has developed a private equity practice through legal and business experience at law firms, operating companies and investment firms.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Harris served as general counsel and chief credit officer for a privately held business with current operations in over 40 states, and served as legal counsel and investment counsel for the family office of the majority shareholder of the business. Before practicing in-house, he was a member of the corporate department of an Atlanta-based international law firm where he focused on drafting partnership/operating agreements for corporate and real estate investments and executed several private offerings and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Harris earned a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University, a Juris Doctorate from Mercer University and a Master of Business Administration from each of Cornell University and Queen’s University as part of a joint international program.

Before attending law school and business school, Mr. Harris worked in the financial sector at Morgan Stanley and SunTrust Capital Markets Inc.
