Jonathan Eady Elected New Managing Partner at Arnall Golden Gregory

Jonathan E. Eady, co-leader of Arnall Golden Gregory’s Real Estate Practice, one of the largest real estate practices in the Southeast, is the firm’s new managing partner, succeeding Glenn P. Hendrix, who served for eight years. The succession took effect on Jan. 1.

Mr. Eady has practiced law since 1991 and spent his entire career at Arnall Golden Gregory, serving in various leadership roles. He has been a member of AGG’s Executive Committee since 2008 and has helped manage the firm’s finances and its growth plans, including deciding to remain an independent law firm rather than be acquired by a larger firm.

Mr. Hendrix is the firm’s new chairman, succeeding Jonathan Golden, son of one of the firm’s three founders, who assumes a new role as chairman emeritus.

During the last six years of Mr. Hendrix’s term as managing partner, AGG’s revenue grew by more than 50 percent, mostly through organic growth. The firm also opened its first non-Atlanta office in Washington, D.C.

All three leaders will continue their busy practices.

“Jonathan’s success in chairing one of the firm’s most dynamic practice groups, along with his track record of building strong client relationships, bode well for the future of the firm,” Mr. Hendrix said. “Jonathan was already significantly engaged in firm management and a key contributor to the firm’s recent success. He’ll be a terrific managing partner.”

Mr. Eady graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1991, and before that earned a B.A. from Emory University.

He also holds an MBA from Georgia State University. Mr. Eady’s innate business sense means he understands and can creatively solve the business-growth challenges that corporate counsel and other business leaders face.

“The legal industry is in transition as in-house counsel take on more work and expect the utmost in value from outside counsel,” Mr. Eady said. “We understand those pressures and will continue to provide innovative, value-added solutions that help our clients achieve their goals.”

One of the leading transactional attorneys in the South, Mr. Eady advises business and real estate clients on various types of financing, investment, acquisition, development and operational matters.

Mr. Eady told the Fulton County Daily Report in a recent article he had several offers 25 years ago but chose AGG because “it was the firm where I liked the people I met with the most.” He added the firm continues to value collegiality and “we encourage self-starters.”
