Electronic Healthcare Information

Arnall Golden Gregory’s Healthcare Practice works regularly with clients who are implementing Electronic Health Information solutions as well as clients who offer such solutions to the health industry. The scope of our work includes electronic health records, health information exchanges (HIEs) patient information management systems, meaningful use compliance, cloud computing, and technology licensing. Our deep understanding of the constraints and risks inherent in federal and state privacy and security laws distinguishes our services in this arena from other firms lacking such regulatory depth.

Our attorneys have worked with clients, both public and private, who are implementing Health Information Exchanges in the State of Georgia. Such services have included analysis of the intersection of longstanding state-level medical record confidentiality laws and innovative models of health information connectivity, as well as contract and policy drafting for HIE implementation. We have assisted our hospital and physician clients in understanding and meeting meaningful use requirements in order to qualify for financial subsidies.  We have advised investors on the security status of their investment targets and negotiated contracts for cloud computer and other technology vendors that appropriately allocate risk for security breach.
