Mr. Adams is a partner of the firm and member of the Affordable Housing and Commercial Real Estate Practice Groups. His areas of practice include representation of for-profit and non-profit developers in multi-family and single family housing development transactions, mixed-use and urban redevelopment transactions, housing transactions involving the use of public/private partnerships, general commercial real estate and real estate finance. He has represented clients in transactions financed with low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, FHA-insured loans and other types of subsidized and conventional financing. He also provides representation in matters involving the structure and formation of flow-through entities used for real estate acquisition, development, management, and construction, negotiation of partnership and limited liability operating agreements, as well as planning and restructuring in connection with real estate and housing transactions.
    Representative Transactions
    • $130 million, multi-phase, mixed-use urban redevelopment project (including multifamily and single-family housing) located in Atlanta, Georgia, financed with HOPE VI funds, tax-exempt bonds, low income housing tax credits and Federal Home Loan Bank AHP funds.
    • $20 million, mixed-use development (including approximately 18,000 square feet of commercial space) located in Atlanta, Georgia, financed with both tax-exempt and taxable series of bonds, low income housing tax credits and CDBG funds.

    • Representation of private developer in connection with multiphase, mixed-use urban redevelopment project located in Memphis, Tennessee, financed with HOPE VI funds, tax-exempt bonds and low income housing tax credits.

    • 200 unit multifamily housing development located in Ft. Worth, Texas, financed with low-income housing tax credits, conventional construction debt financing, and a TDHCA administered Housing Trust Fund loan.

    • 72 unit multifamily townhouse development located in Thomasville, Georgia, financed with low income housing tax credits and HOME funds.

    • Mixed-use historic rehabilitation development located in South Carolina, financed with I.R.C.§ 47 historic rehabilitation tax credits and conventional debt financing.

    • Numerous other multifamily, single-family and mixed-use developments located throughout the southeast and Texas, financed with low-income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds and other subsidized debt, as well as conventional construction and permanent loan financing.
