Sean Sullivan helps companies in highly-regulated industries stay out of trouble. He is an attorney in the firm’s Healthcare, Litigation, Government Investigation & White Collar, and Privacy & Consumer Regulatory groups, with a concentration on litigating healthcare disputes and navigating regulatory and reimbursement obstacles in the long-term care and health IT industries. He also assists companies in other regulated industries such as debt collection and asset recovery in managing regulatory pitfalls and liability defense.

For the last several years, Mr. Sullivan’s practice has been focused on representing post-acute care providers in high-stakes professional malpractice claims and advising companies in the long-term care, healthcare technology, and consumer recovery industries on regulatory matters and avoiding liability. Drawing on his experience both as an Army prosecutor and defending soldiers and officers, he has also defended several companies and individuals, both within the healthcare field and other industries, in government investigations, audits, and criminal proceedings. His experience in litigation and breadth of knowledge in the industry identify helps him identify potential areas of liability and evaluate pending lawsuits, moving them towards resolution, whether by trial, dismissal, or alternative dispute resolution, as well as preventing and reducing lawsuits through incident and risk management, policy development, and regulatory guidance.

Before entering private practice, Sean was a U.S. Army JAG Officer, most recently serving as a Trial Defense Attorney, where he represented soldiers, officers, and professionals accused of criminal misconduct or substandard performance, and tried over 40 cases on military bases across the Southeast. Prior to his defense work, Mr. Sullivan also worked for the Army as a Prosecutor, Chief of Civil Litigation for Metro Atlanta and North Georgia, and Legal Assistance Attorney, assisting soldiers with various legal, probate, and tax matters.

Sean continues to serve the military community as a volunteer attorney for the Ft. McPherson VA Legal Clinic and as a Liaison to the American Bar Association’s Military and Veteran’s Health Law Task Force. He also currently serves on the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyer’s Foundation Junior Board, frequently taking wrongful eviction and other landlord/tenant cases on a pro bono basis, and is active in the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society.

Sean and his wife, Kelly, have one son, and are both Atlanta natives.
