Some of the representative matters handled by Mr. Hendrix include defending a major UK-based global logistics company in connection with the termination of its US agency network; obtaining a precedent-setting ruling that low Medicaid payment rates to healthcare providers may constitute an unconstitutional taking of property; using the New York Convention to enforce a Russian arbitration award in a Seattle court; successfully defending numerous companies in actions under the federal False Claims Act; securing an injunction invalidating a federal Medicare reimbursement rule; holding a Ugandan bank liable as a principal on an obligation of one of its affiliates in an international sales transaction; obtaining a $60 million recovery in a series of Medicare appeals on behalf of a chain of healthcare providers; arbitrating an insurance coverage claim arising from the sale of an oil refinery to China; obtaining the dismissal of a lawsuit filed in the US in favor of a parallel proceeding in Germany; serving as an expert witness on the operation of the Hague Service Convention in a $1.1 billion class action, representing three national trade associations in securing the withdrawal of a proposed Medicare reimbursement rule, and obtaining a ruling from the Georgia Supreme Court which establishes a provider-friendly standard of review in reimbursement disputes.

Mr. Hendrix serves on the arbitration panel of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and as an arbitrator in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) proceedings. He was a private sector advisor on US State Department delegations to The Hague (2003 Special Commission on the Practical Operation of the Hague Evidence and Service Conventions) and Moscow (bilateral discussions in 2004 concerning Russia's implementation of the Hague Evidence and Service Conventions) and serves on the State Department's Advisory Committee on Private International Law.  He is a member of the Joint Editorial Board for International Law of the Uniform Law Commission (formerly the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws).
