Bertram L. Levy is partner and chairman of the Private Wealth Practice. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 1995, in Georgia Super Lawyers since 2004, and has twice been selected as one of the top 100 lawyers in Georgia.

Mr. Levy’s practice, which is national in scope, is focused exclusively on complex wealth transfer planning for high net worth families, including charitable planning and sophisticated post-mortem planning and administration, and he has special expertise with issues surrounding the transfer of large family business interests and with family business succession planning.

Mr. Levy is a prolific author and frequent lecturer on wealth transfer and charitable subjects, including co-authoring the leading treatise on Georgia estate planning and estate administration. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the former Chair of the Fiduciary Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Levy is actively engaged in a number of community and philanthropic endeavors. He serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Piedmont Healthcare Foundation, on the Board of the High Museum of Art, the Advisory Board for the Shepherd Center, and the Advisory Board for the Historic Oakland Foundation. He is a former board member of the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta and has chaired the Foundations Committee for the Woodruff Arts Center annual campaign.
