Mr. Kepner is a partner in the firm's Bankruptcy, Creditors' Rights and Workout Practice Group. During the course of his career, Mr. Kepner has represented a wide variety of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, official and unofficial committees, trustees and investors in all phases of corporate restructurings and business reorganizations in Delaware, New York, Georgia, Texas, California, and several other jurisdictions throughout the country.

Mr. Kepner's representations have included, among others:

  • Chapter 11 Debtors: FoxMeyer Corporation, The Circle K Corporation; United Companies Financial Corporation; Edison Brothers, Inc.; KCS Energy; Weiner's Stores, Inc.; SLJ Retail, Shoebilee, Inc.
  • Official Creditors' Committees: APS Holding (Committee); Costilla Energy, Inc. (Committee); and Forcenergy, Inc. (Committee)
  • Other Bankruptcy-Related Representations: PG&E Corporation; Lehman Brothers; GE Capital Corporation; Verizon Communications; Merrill Lynch; The Anschutz Corporation; Varde Partners; Oaktree Capital Management; GAB Robins

Mr. Kepner is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He has lectured at many CLE seminars and professional organizations on a variety of bankruptcy topics. He has also authored numerous papers on topics related to business reorganizations and restructurings for CLE seminars throughout the United States. He studied law in Mexico City and has served an adjunct professor of International Financial Transactions at the University of Houston Law Center.

Prior to joining Arnall Golden Gregory LLP in 2001, Mr. Kepner practiced for ten years in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department of the Houston office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
